Chicago Magazine, the official publication of the Chicago Medical Society, reports in a recent issue what the AMA and medical schools are doing to shift GME to today’s patient needs. The cover story focuses on the shift in care from fee-for-service to value-based and its impact on schools of medicine.  As a result, medical schools are changing how they educate doctors to meet medicine’s new demands, with programs such as the AMA’s Accelerating Change in Medical Education Consortium, which began in 2013 and provides grants to medical schools to fund innovations.
