Forbes, in a recently published article, is reporting on the healthcare industry and focusing its attention on the role hospitals play in lowering and controlling healthcare costs. The article points out the obstacles to controlling costs are mainly because “U.S. healthcare consumers aren’t influentially equipped and government interventions continue to be driven by a handful of powerful medical device and pharmaceutical suppliers” – and concludes that “the market for healthcare cannot be analyzed using standard supply-and-demand curves.”
