The Chronicle Herald (Canada) reports that four hospitals under Capital Health’s purview have launched a medical device reprocessing program with Ascent:

For now, the hospitals are planning to recycle 15 to 20 types of equipment, including electrophysiology catheters and harmonic scalpels. Used items will be placed in receptacle bins, which will be picked up by Ascent staffers.
Some of the recycled products are already in use in the hospitals.
Most of the reused items will come from the operating rooms at Capital Health’s Victoria General, Halifax Infirmary, Dartmouth General and Hants Community sites.
