CTV.ca reports that  Hospitals should resterilize more devices: researchers (02/26/10):

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine say that with proper sterilization, recalibration and testing, reusing some of the equipment that hospitals normally throw away is perfectly safe.
The recommendation is made in a commentary published in the March issue of the journal Academic Medicine. The authors note that not only would reusing medical devices and equipment save hospitals money, it would also help curb the enormous amount of trash that hospitals create.
