Because 60% to 80% of greenhouse gas emissions from hospitals come from the supply chain, “low-hanging fruit” solutions such as programs to reprocess medical devices labeled for single-use will continue to grow substantially. Supply chain shortages, particularly for single-use devices with computer chips, will further drive the growth of reprocessing programs.
