PRESS RELEASE
Washington D.C., August 20, 2012 – Every year, U.S. News & World Report releases its annual list of the Best Hospitals in the country, by specialty, including the highly coveted “Honor Roll” list that distinguishes the best of the best.  This year, only 148 out of almost 5,000 hospitals can call themselves one of the nation’s best, which requires the institution to rank among the top in at least one specialty. From that select group, only 17 – or less than 0.4 percent – made the “Honor Roll,” which recognizes those hospitals that rank among the top in at least six specialties.

This year, the Association of Medical Device Reprocessors (AMDR) is proud to announce that its members currently serve 16 of the 17 hospitals in the U.S. News & World Report’sHonor Roll” List. In addition to this outstanding achievement, AMDR member companies also serve a majority of the hospitals that ranked among the top 10 in the following specialties:

About AMDR: The Association of Medical Device Reprocessors represents the interests of the nation’s third-party, “single-use” medical device reprocessing industry. Over 3,000 hospitals across the country use the services of America’s third-party reprocessors and now save hundreds of millions of dollars a year doing so.  Additionally, hospitals that reprocess with AMDR’s members prevented 9 million pounds of medical waste from going to landfills in 2011 alone.  For more information, please visit our website at www.amdr.org or contact us via info@amdr.org, Twitter, or Facebook.
