OPINION: In July a video of rapper and producer Dr Dre went viral on Twitter, showing the millionaire leafing through rows and rows of gleaming white Nike Air Force 1s, each pair a clone of the one beside it.
According to several reports, Dr Dre slides a completely new pair of these plush sneakers on every single day; what happens with the soiled shoe when he’s done for the day is anyone’s guess.
Many will baulk at this extreme consumerism and waste, others might celebrate it, but whatever way you might feel, you can agree that if everyone behaved like Dre, we’d be wading through mountains of rubbish and debt on our way to work every day.
